Hey guys! Back at it again with another update and this may be the last time you hear from me. SIKE! Unfortunately, it’s the last post for my class, but that don’t mean i’m going to stop spreading my personality across WordPress. Alright, so first thing, this isn’t a copy of my last post, this time i’m talking about my final project of the semester. The story i decided to do was a commentary piece on Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi commercial. The commercial just wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I’m sorry but she should have not taken on this job. She lost a few fans in minorities. Including African Americans. I’m not going to go all in for how #blacklivesmatter. At Least, not right now. The one thing i’m  trying to find is why she did the commercial, knowing all the controversies out there. For now, here’s a little more background from the commercial. This will be the introduction to my commentary piece for prior knowledge to the reader:

Hey guys back at it again with an update! This blog was on my exploration of I would like to say that i love the blue because if you haven’t noticed that’s what most social media website colors are. The website also included tons of videos, drop down menus, ways to follow the website on other social medias, and it does a good job of letting us know what the latest tea in the world is. I would actually go to this website to catch up on the news and use it for research. One of the three videos i watched was the one about April Fool’s day and how it came to be a national holiday. Might i add i learned a lot from just that one minute filled clip. It has other videos that anyone will take an interest too. Overall, my experience with the website was pretty good. Until next time !

Hyperlocal News Sites

Hey guys! Back at it again with another blog. Yes this one is on a Wednesday not on a usual Saturday because as some of you guys know, next week is spring break! I’m lazy and I know I’m not going to be wanting to do any work, so I’m going to be a over achiever this week. This particular blog is about Hyperlocal News. It means there is a specific site focusing on a well-defined community. I feel no one can make money off of these hyperlocal stories and sites because it only shoots at a specific group and not nationwide. No one outside of the community will read it because it won’t relate to the rest of us. Then most of the sites have you pay for it. But with todays technology you can go find it for free. Hyper local news just not “it”. Maybe one day they’ll get good recognition for it. Until next time…Enjoy your Spring Break and be safe!

Hm…feels like i haven’t been on here in awhile. Also, i’m still overcoming my depression from Remy Ma’s diss track for Nicki Minaj. Anyway, i’m not talking about that in this particular blog. I have a project to do and it’s on photojournalism. I’m pretty sure you know what that means…telling a story using pictures guys. My idea is to cover my mother. Yes, Ms. Davis. I’ll tell you why, my mother is a single parent. My dad, well, that’s way too much tea to talk about. I consider my mother my father also. She has raised my sister and my spoiled behind with everything in her. It’s not easy raising two girls on her own but somehow, someway she did it. She wakes up at seven every morning to keep a roof over our heads and hot meals on the table. She works at Tampa General Hospital as an RCA Supervisor. From my knowledge, she has been working there 28 years. I know right! May i say the lady is still slaying the game. She is someone i feel needs to have her story told. Let’s see how this goes. Until next time byeeeee.

Service Journalism

Yo whats good? Kidding but hellooooo you guys back at it again with another update! This one is something different and my interviewing is being put on the back burner for now. As you can see from the title, my topic is on service journalism. Some of you guys are like, “Cece what you talking about?” Well, Service journalism is a term for generally consumer-oriented features and advice, ranging from the serious to the frivolous. Basically controversial subjects dealing with the facts. So my topic will be on teen pregnancies. No, i’m not pregnant. I feel that teen pregnancies is an important conversation to have with you youngin’s. Did you know over 615,000 teens ranging from 15-19 years of age get pregnant each year? I know right! Throughout my high school career i’ve seen at least 8 young women get pregnant and three out of the eight, i knew. Two of them were in fact sisters. Teen pregnancies will never be completely gone but these numbers need to decrease and not increase any higher. That’s a promise. Well, gotta blast and i hope you guys will follow me on this new project.

Story Focus Sheet

Heeyyyyy! Let me speed this up because Starbucks getting ready to close…On previous posts i’ve been explaining to you all who i was interviewing and the questions i asked to Ms. Dezray Smith. Well, today here is a really how i ended up wanting to tell Smith’s story.

My story was about a Mass Communications major by the name of Dezray Smith. I wrote the story because i wanted to have students in general have someone to relate too. Not only that but because she is currently a second year student at University of South Florida. The story is relevant for Hillsborough Community College students because it offers great insight and advice to students who are thinking of pursuing a career in mass communications and to also hear some of the things Smith says. Furthermore, to make this a great story and not a boring one…no shade… I asked questions that was relevant to her college career and a little bit of where she comes from. In conclusion, i followed up with her to ask her more questions to develop more of my closing paragraph and in return made a great story.

That closes my blog for today and might i say these cakepops are bomb. Until next time kings and queens

Interview Preparation

920d9fa8428fc07869e76d7961e541c2Hello…It’s me…back again with another post! So basically, I just finished up my interview. Maybe it’s just me but it was extremely easy. Nah, I’m bluffing, let me tell you what really happened: Dezray (the interviewee) had things to do and things came up. I had issues to tend to as well so we rescheduled at least 3 times. We decided on doing it after our TBABJ(Tampa Bay Association of Black Journalists) meeting. I’ll go more into detail on what that is in a later post but not today :). It was at a library and we went up there and did it. That part was easy, maybe because it wasn’t my first time meeting with her… anyhow, I asked the 10 questions I posted in my last post and received some really good answers and feedback, also gaining knowledge of things I never knew. At the end of it all, I have everything I need to make this story pop! I selected Dezray because she has this vibe about her that makes you want to know more. We work really well together and it was only fair to write about someone who inspired me and share that with you all. I’m not saying it will be this easy because you will get uncomfortable at times but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. Until next time…
